I was appointed as Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics at the Institute of Orthopaedics, University College London before taking my present consultant appointment at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. I have been a Consultant since January 2000.

Clinical activities and interests/research

As a member of the London Sarcoma Service I treat patients with all forms of bone and soft tissue tumours, both benign and malignant. I also perform joint replacement, resurfacing and revision surgery of hip and knee joints. My research interests include implant design and fixation and limb conserving surgery for malignant disease. I have several publications on the diagnosis, and orthopaedic management of bone and soft tissue tumours and all aspects of joint reconstruction. I also have a special interest in bearing surfaces for joint replacements and particularly the effect of metal on metal bearings on biological systems. I am the Chairman of the Infection Control Committee at the RNOH and as Clinical Tutor and Royal College of Surgeons Tutor at Stanmore am involved in training junior surgeons.
