Clinical activities and interests/research

I am the clinical histopathology lead for the London Sarcoma Service undertaking the NHS service work at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. My research is based at the Institute of Orthopaedics & Musculoskeletal Science in Stanmore, and in the Paul O'Gorman Cancer Institute, Huntley Street, UCL. I undertook a PhD studying bone biology and focused on the regulation of osteoclast formation and resorption in health and disease and the mechanisms by which bisphosphonates exert their effect. My current interests are those of the molecular genetics of connective tissue neoplasms. My current major projects include stem cells in osteosarcomas and the pathogenesis of chordomas. I collaborate with Professor Stephan Beck, Cancer Institute, on the epigenetics of sarcomas.
