Euramos-1- A randomized trial of the European and American Osteosarcoma Study Group to optimize treatment strategies for resectable osteosarcoma based on histological response to pre-operative chemotherapy

EuroEwing-99 - Phase III randomized study of standard induction chemotherapy comprising vincristine, dactinomycin, ifosfamide, and etoposide followed by consolidation chemotherapy comprising vincristine, dactinomycin, and ifosfamide versus high-dose busulfan and melphalan followed by autologous peripheral blood stem cell support with or without radiotherapy and/or surgery in patients with Ewing's sarcoma family of tumours.

EORTC 62012 – a trial comparing doxorubicin alone with doxorubicin and ifosfamide in advanced soft tissue sarcoma.

VORTEX – a trial looking at the size of the radiotherapy treatment area, randomising between standard large size radiotherapy fields, and smaller radiotherapy fields. The aim of the study is to see if it is possible to reduce long term side effects of radiotherapy by reducing the size of the treatment fields.

Pfizer A6181112 study – a trial in patients with advanced or metastatic gastrointestinal stromal tumour who have relapsed after imatinib 400mg, randomising between sunitinib 37.5mg per day and imatinib 800 mg per day.

SUCEED study – a phase III randomised placebo-controlled trial of the mTOR inhibitor AP23573 in patients with advanced or metastatic soft tissue sarcoma, investigating whether AP23573 is effective as maintenance therapy following good responses to standard chemotherapy..

SARC011 study - A phase II trial of R1507, a recombinant human monoclonal antibody to the Insulin-Like Growth Factor-1 Receptor for the treatment of patients with recurrent or refractory Ewing’s sarcoma, osteosarcoma, synovial sarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma and other sarcomas..

GLU-1 - Double-blind, randomised, cross-over, phase II study, to investigate the efficacy and safety of glucarpidase for routine use after high-dose methotrexate in patients with bone sarcoma.

Pfizer A4021020 study - multiple-centre, open label, phase 1/phase 2 study to identify and determine the efficacy, in terms of objective response rate, of CP-751,871 in patients with relapsed and/or refractory Ewing’s sarcoma family of tumours.

Sometimes there may be other trials open – it is always worth asking your doctor.
