Gynaecological sarcomas are a rare but important group of gynaecological tumours. The commonest types are leiomyosarcomas and endometrial stromal sarcomas arising from the uterus. Surgery for all gynaecological sarcomas is carried out by the highly experienced gynaecological oncology team which treats all gynaecological cancers within the North London Cancer Network. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy is given by the sarcoma oncologist, who regularly attends the weekly gynaecological oncology MDT meeting to discuss cases.
